Caffeine-induced COVID Critiques

I'm in a caffeine-induced drive and this COVID situation in the country is handled a tad bit...fuck there's no point sugarcoating things. This government is mishandling it and costing too many lives and too many debts for the future generations to burden. I know there is no point in crying over spilled milk and missed chances to close the borders but, some Executive Shithead decided not to close the borders as "it would be not fair" (https://globalnation.inquirer.net/184635/duterte-not-keen-on-stopping-tourist-traffic-from-china). Fuck, being unfair, right? Filipino lives, be damned. Then again, it's a spilled milk. We could only hope that they would save the remaining milk in the carton, right? Right?
Ohhhh but nope, they fucking spilled the entire carton. Flipped open another one and spilled it across the room with their senseless priorities - getting Maria Ressa indicted, getting ABS-CNB shut down (and leaving thousands of families jobless IN THE MIDDLE OF A FUCKING PANDEMIC, NO LESS!), getting the "Anti"-Terror Bill which takes into effect as of 0001H today.

Mass testing?
Never heard of it.
LGUs are doing their best to initiate mass testing for their constituents while the Spokesperson of the highest position in the Land says and does otherwise, using semantics to twist the reality of their so-called "expanded targeted testing"(https://mb.com.ph/2020/07/03/palace-expects-sc-to-dismiss-petition-on-free-covid-19-mass-testing/).

Test-trace-treat (T3)?
What the fuck is that?
Discipline is all it takes, says some "Czar", who ironically leads the T3 program of the government (https://www.msn.com/en-ph/news/national/dizon-flattening-covid-19-curve-requires-discipline-more-than-anything/ar-BB16NvOx).

And how do they respond with a MEDICAL problem? A MILITARY solution, of course! Send out tanks and military to enforce quarantine. Send out state forces to flush out patients from their homes and place them in quarantine facilities. Our health system has been crumbling and this pandemic has only added heavily to its burden, making the cracks more noticeable. D'OH be like counting beds to measure the capability of the system but who takes care of the patients? Is it the beds ordering the health management plans? Is it the beds doing the bedside care? Nope, it's the healthcare workers doing the care. The doctors, the nurses, the nursing assistants, the utility workers. But the thing is, we're not immune to the virus. Our only protection is the PPE which, quite frankly, is dwindling fast as this pandemic drags longer. Soon enough, we'll be defenseless against this fight. And who cares for the carers?
The people in power is using this restricting effect of the quarantine to their advantage. People can't take their sentiments to the streets without exposing themselves to the virus. Fuck, this pandemic couldn't have come in the worst of times. But we just have to do our best. Pwede mapagod. Pwede manghina. Basta hindi susuko. Lalaban tayo.

  1. So love the caffeine-induced critique! Happens a lot to me so I get to waste a lot of paper for my thoughts especially during this pandemic where in we all seem to wish that our leaders come to their f*ckn sense.
